Lionel Messi is “simple and quiet” in the dressing room according to Archaf Hakimi, who admitted to having been “surprised” by the Paris Saint-Germain star’s behavior.
Messi had his 21-year stint in Camp Nou brought to a premature conclusion earlier in the summer, as Barcelona was hit by a financial crisis and he decided to choose PSG as the team he would like to build on his stellar career.
The 34-year old signed the two-year deal at Parc des Princes . He’s been touted as a potential inspiration for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad towards Champions League glory, but Hakimi was taken aback by his quiet demeanour far from the field.

“Building a technical relationship with him is easy! I give him the ball, I run and he will put it where it belongs!” the PSG full-back, who joined the club during this summer’s transfer window stated to L’Equipe. “I was surprised by the way he behaved, he is simple, quiet.”
Hakimi is thankful for the chance to work alongside Messi and believes that he and his teammates will be able to reach an entirely new level when working alongside Messi, the 6-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“For Messi to leave Barca, like everyone else, I didn’t expect it, and when I heard you were coming here, what can I say? A dream for me!” He continued.
“I had the privilege of playing with many fantastic players, but the one I didn’t get was Messi I’m happy to have been able to grow with such a great footballer.
“To progress, I will pay attention to how he trains, how he plays. It will grow the team and each of the players that make it up. We speak the same language, in addition, little by little we are getting to know each other.”
How did Messi begin?
Messi experienced a brief pre-season before his role in leading Argentina in the race to Copa America glory in July the month of July, with Pochettino choosing to slowly integrate the player into his plans at PSG.
